Facial Fat Transfer
Overview
Facial fat transfer (fat grafting) addresses volume loss that occurs with ageing. By harvesting fat from another area of your body and carefully injecting it into the face, we can restore fullness to the cheeks, temples, under-eyes, and other areas.
Because it uses your own tissue, the result is natural-looking and can be long-lasting. It provides a softer, more organic rejuvenation compared to synthetic fillers.
What to Expect
Fat transfer is performed under local anaesthetic with sedation or general anaesthetic. Fat is harvested via gentle liposuction from an area with adequate reserves (commonly abdomen or thighs), processed to concentrate healthy fat cells, then injected into the face in small amounts at multiple levels. Some of the transferred fat is naturally absorbed over the first few months; the fat that survives becomes permanent. Swelling and bruising settle over 1-2 weeks, with final results visible at 3-6 months.

Our Services

Cheek Volume Restoration
Restores the natural curve and fullness of the cheeks that diminishes with age. Fat is carefully layered to lift the midface and reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds without looking ‘puffy’.

Temple Hollowing Correction
Fills the hollows in the temple area, which can create a gaunt or skeletal appearance. Restoring volume here softens the transition from the forehead to the cheekbone, contributing to a healthier, more youthful look.

Under Eye Filling
Addresses deep tear troughs and hollows under the eyes that cause dark circles and a tired appearance. Using very fine micro-fat grafting, this delicate area is smoothed to blend seamlessly with the cheek.

Nasolabial Fold Softening
Softens the deep lines running from the nose to the mouth. Unlike fillers which can sometimes look stiff in this mobile area, fat integrates with the tissue for a softer, more natural movement.

Jawline Enhancement
Adds definition and structure to a weak chin or jawline. Fat transfer can camouflage jowls and create a straighter, more defined jaw profile.
Before & After
FAQs
How much fat survives?
Typically 50-70% of transferred fat survives long-term. We account for this by transferring slightly more than the final desired volume.
Where is the fat taken from?
Common donor sites include the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. The choice depends on where you have adequate fat reserves.
Is it better than fillers?
Fat transfer uses your own tissue and can be longer-lasting. Fillers are simpler with no donor site, but require repeat treatments. The choice depends on your goals and anatomy.
What if I gain or lose weight?
Transferred fat behaves like fat elsewhere in your body. Significant weight changes may affect the result.
Can this be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Fat transfer is commonly combined with facelift surgery for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
