Lip Lift
Overview
A lip lift addresses an elongated upper lip that can develop with age or be a natural feature. By shortening the philtrum (the distance between the nose and the lip), more of the upper lip vermilion becomes visible, creating a more youthful and balanced appearance.
This procedure is a permanent alternative to repeated filler treatments for patients whose primary concern is the length of the upper lip rather than just volume.
What to Expect
Lip lift surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, often with sedation. The incision is placed at the base of the nose, following the natural contour, so the scar becomes well-concealed once healed. Sutures are removed in approximately one week. Initial swelling settles within 2 weeks, with the final result visible at 2-3 months once the scar matures.

Our Services

Bullhorn Lip Lift
The most common technique, this involves the removal of a strip of skin directly under the nose shaped like a bullhorn. It lifts the entire central lip area, effectively shortening the philtrum and rolling out the vermilion border for a fuller, more youthful appearance.

Corner Lip Lift
Specifically addresses downturned corners of the mouth (commissures) which can give a sad or tired appearance. A small wedge of skin is removed at the outer corners to elevate them into a neutral or slightly upturned position.

Central Lip Lift
Focuses on elevating the very centre of the upper lip to enhance the Cupid’s bow specifically. This is ideal for patients who want to increase central tooth show and definition without altering the corners of the mouth.
Before & After
FAQs
Will the scar be visible?
The incision is hidden at the base of the nose, following its natural contour. With proper healing, the scar typically becomes difficult to see.
Is a lip lift better than filler?
They achieve different things. Filler adds volume; a lip lift shortens the philtrum and shows more of your natural lip. For patients with a long upper lip, surgical lift gives a permanent structural change.
How long until I can wear lipstick?
Once sutures are removed and any crusting has settled, usually around 10-14 days.
Will it affect my smile?
A well-performed lip lift should not affect your smile. The aim is to improve proportions at rest while maintaining natural movement.
Can this be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Lip lift is often combined with facelift, eyelid surgery, or other facial rejuvenation procedures.
